EIT Health

After 10 years working within academic research labs in immuno-oncology, Marie Anson joined Aviesan to coordinate a digital platform dedicated to biomarkers and in vitro diagnostic, to foster public private partnerships and accelerate the development of innovative solutions. After two years navigating within the French ecosystem, she joined EIT Health to build a pan-European flagship on biomanufacturing, that encompasses several activities over 3 pillars: education, innovation and business creation. The flagship proposes an integrated view of the structuring activities in the field, with funding programmes, training offers, collaboration and investments opportunities and relies on both European and national initiatives, such as IPCEI on Health, Pact for Skills, COBIOE project, HERA invest or the WorkInHealth foundation.

Alberto Baldi

Alberto boasts a two-decade career with a focus on clusters, regional competitiveness, and EU projects. After earning his Master's Degree, he immersed himself in science and technology parks, contributing to technology transfer, SME support, and internationalization. In 2009, he played a pivotal role in founding bioPmed, the Piemonte Life Sciences & Healthcare cluster, where he served as Cluster Manager for eight years and Vice-President of CEBR. Alberto's impact spans the European landscape, with over 20 successful EU projects, including two European Strategic Cluster Partnerships. He holds key roles at ESCA in Berlin and the European Foundation for Cluster Excellence in Barcelona as Gold Label Lead Assessor, Benchmarking Expert, and Associated Trainer. As a seasoned professional, Alberto serves as a consultant, mentor, and coach, specializing in cluster management, excellence, and regional competitiveness. His diverse contributions demonstrate a dedication to driving innovation and collaboration in European projects.

Alain Lusardi is the EU project manager at GENOPOLE International&Europe department and has a PhD. He is already very familiar with the European landscape and has a solid track record of European- minded achievements with 20 years of professional experience in the implementation and coordination of R&D projects co-funded by the EU. His expertise includes having provided consultancy and counselling in setting up start-ups and financing their innovation and R&D projects, supporting early-stage young innovative enterprises, SMEs and industrial groups in business development and strategic planning related matters.

Patricia Patricio

Health Cluster Portugal

Patricia has over 10 years of experience working in health sciences in both academic and business settings with a PhD and Postdoc in neuroscience. She has had training and gained expertise in a variety of areas including entrepreneurship, business and project management, technology transfer, intellectual property, clinical research, and leadership. Patricia is a co-founder and partner of Bn'ML, a company that offers preclinical services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Portuguese Association for Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and at B. ACIS, an association for science, innovation, and health at the University of Minho School of Medicine. In 2020, she became the Knowledge and Intelligence Manager for Health Cluster Portugal, where she currently serves as the Innovation Director, overseeing the Portuguese European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in health and the cluster involvement in European projects such as TEF Health, Digit-Pre, and COBIOE, while also supporting knowledge valorization in the Portuguese health ecosystem.

Jaanus Pikani

ScanBalt BioRegion

Chairman of ScanBalt BioRegion, Jaanus Pikani has been a practising surgeon in head and neck oncology, hospital manager of the National Cancer Centre and Tartu University Hospital, secretary general of the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia and the chief of staff of the President of Estonia. Dr Pikani has been an active member of the team that orchestrated the transition of Estonian healthcare from the Soviet-type system to one of the most cost-efficient healthcare systems globally. Dr Pikani was among the initiators and architects of the Estonian Genome Project, a globally unique population-based health and genome databank of 200,000 participants (ca 20% of the entire Estonian population). Currently, he is a consultant for the World Bank, WHO and other international organisations, national governments and private companies in health care, medical technology and technology infrastructure. Dr. Pikani is also a founder and board member of Tartu Biotechnology Park, an innovation support entity for technology innovation-intensive business development.
